I've got Charles Dickens beat. Mine is a Tale of Three Cities.

The city where I was born, raised, and mostly educated. While I haven't lived there for a long time, I still consider it home, kinda sorta. It still fascinates me, at least. In fact, it's become even more interesting over the years (absence makes the heart yada yada). London was where I got my first copywriting gig, where I got married for the first time, & where I discovered late-night bars & comedy venues.

A few days after I graduated university, I headed to Mexico's second city. Brimming with the idealism of youth, I pictured myself as some latter-day Hemingway. I worked as a journalist for the most part, though dipped my toes into feature writing, English teaching & even did a stint as a translator/interpreter. It's probably my favorite place in the world. It's where I intend to retire to.

My second second city & the place I currently call home. It was here I got married for the second (& hopefully last time), it was here that my four (count 'em) daughters were born, & it was here that I became immersed in the vibrant world of advertising. When not writing ads or emails or blogs or whatever my lovely clients demand, I spend a lot of time wandering the city, a lot of time reading & probably far too much time listening to music way too loudly for a man of my age.
